that is, the Web APIs feel complicated for path-dependent historical reasons and not inherent ones, while the Apple APIs contain all this weird specific detail that actually does feel 'learned' from experience in the world, like enums for all the kinds of family relationships a person can have, or specific callback and event loop interfaces that almost force you to write fast code
