it's funny, it kind of reminds me of the old-school like Unix talk things where you could message everyone logged into the same Unix server
i think you could do that on the Stanford machines
this sense of like a bounded, accountable compute area where you actually can just broadcast to everyone and that's meaningful (whether it's a remote login server with a few other students, or a Wi-Fi network with everyone else in the same room as you)
